PM Modi’s Visit to J&K: Unveiling Rs 3300 Crore Development Boost and Leading International Yoga Day Celebrations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, bringing with him a Rs 3300 crore development package aimed at empowering youth and upgrading infrastructure in the region.
Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K
On Thursday, at around 6 pm, PM Modi will attend the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ event at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. During this event, he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects valued at over Rs 1500 crore, including road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and higher education facilities.
Additionally, he will launch the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP), a Rs 1800 crore initiative set to impact 90 blocks across 20 districts, benefiting 3 lakh households and covering 15 lakh beneficiaries. PM Modi will also distribute appointment letters to over 2000 newly appointed government employees.
The Prime Minister will inspect stalls and interact with young achievers from J&K, further emphasizing the region’s progress and potential.
International Day of Yoga
On Friday, at around 6:30 am, PM Modi will lead the 10th International Day of Yoga celebrations at SKICC in Srinagar. This year’s theme, ‘Yoga for Self and Society,’ underscores yoga’s significant impact on both individual and societal well-being.
The event aims to unite thousands in the practice of yoga, promoting health and wellness globally. Since 2015, PM Modi has led International Day of Yoga celebrations at various iconic locations, including Kartavya Path in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysuru, and even the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
This year’s celebration will encourage grassroots participation and the spread of yoga in rural areas, highlighting yoga’s role in fostering a healthy society.
PM Modi’s visit and the launch of these projects mark a pivotal moment for J&K, showcasing significant progress and inspiring the region’s youth.
