Two Terrorists Killed in Encounter with Security Forces in Doda
An intense encounter between terrorists and security forces erupted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of two terrorists. The gunfight began in Bajaad village in the Gandoh area around 9:50 am, amid a cordon and search operation carried out by the police, Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
The operation was launched in response to twin terror attacks in the hilly district earlier this month. On June 11, six security personnel were injured when terrorists attacked a joint check post at Chattargalla. The following day, a policeman was injured during a gunfight with terrorists at Kota top in the Gandoh area.
Security forces intensified their search operations following these attacks, leading to Wednesday’s encounter. The operation in Bajaad village saw a heavy exchange of gunfire, culminating in the elimination of the two terrorists.
The authorities have maintained a heightened security presence in the region, continuing their search to ensure no further threats remain. The encounter underscores the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in combating terrorism in the region.
The identities of the slain terrorists are yet to be confirmed. Security personnel are also working to determine if they were involved in the earlier attacks.
This latest encounter highlights the persistent threat posed by terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir and the relentless efforts of the security forces to maintain peace and security in the region. The situation remains tense, and operations are ongoing to secure the area fully.
